Steal Back Your Health With Thieves Oil

Once upon a time, in Merry Olde England, there lived 4 brothers. Well, it wasn’t such a merry time in England, because the black plague was running rampant. But still there lived four brothers. They may not have been brothers. There may not have been four. But they were perfumers. Or spice traders. Or apothecaries.

So anyhow, this maybe-quartet discovered a blend of oils that allowed them to loot houses that had been quarantined, without falling ill themselves. They continued on for quite a while, maybe pocketing the coin, maybe running ye olde pawn shoppe, before they were arrested.

When they were taken before the king for punishment, he offered them a deal. If they would reveal the secret to their immunity, he’d spare their lives. Not surprisingly, they gave up the recipe, and Thieves Oil was born.

Clearly, the story of Thieves Oil has been altered as it’s been passed through the generations, but the recipe has not.

Thieves Oil Recipe

40 drops Clove Essential Oil
35 drops Lemon Essential Oil
20 drops Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil
15 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
10 drops Rosemary Essential Oil

Mix all the oils together in a dark glass bottle and seal.

Why Use Thieves Oil?

Well, as you can guess, Thieves Oil is great for immunity. A study in India found 4 of the oils (Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, and Rosemary) showed strong antibacterial properties. A separate study of Eucalyptus Oil found it to be a promising antimicrobial.

This particular blend of oils is quite pungent, as well. It is very useful in clearing up chest congestion, and to help keep germs from spreading from person to person.

How Can I Use It?

  • Diffuse to kill airborne germs
  • Add a few drops to dishwater
  • Mix with vinegar in a spray bottle to clean surfaces
  • Spritz on tiles after a shower to help prevent growth of mold & mildew
  • Add a few drops to a bath with Epsom salts (always test a small amount on your skin before soaking)
  • Add a small amount to water to spray fruit and veg. It may help protect against mold
