Here at Moberly, it’s always been a priority to bring in Canadian brands. As a result, we work with some companies that are SO local that they can deliver to us on foot. However, now more than ever, perhaps, it’s important to shop Canadian. In honour of that, we figured we’d give you a run-down of some of our favourite Canadian Moberly brands.
Shop Canadian Coffee
Both brands of coffee we carry are proudly Canadian. Kicking Horse Coffee hails from the mountains of BC, while i deal coffee is roasted just down the road in Kensington Market. Ask about the origins of their name sometime – it’s a pretty uniquely Kensington story.
Shop Canadian Snacks
There are so many great Canadian snacks here that you could graze all day and never run out of options! Our closest neighbours are Nomz Energy Bites, who live just up the street in East York. Other Toronto brands include New Moon Kitchen Cookies, Sweets From The Earth, ShaSha Snaps, Pur Gum, and Stephano’s Granola.
Just outside the city, you’ve got an array of products from Neal Brothers: chips, salsa, pretzels, etc. and in Scarborough, the incredible Sunflower Kitchen. From Quebec, we’ve got the Prana line of organic nuts, seeds, fruits, and goodies, and from BC, our favourites include Nature’s Path, Hidden Garden, and Hardbite.
Shop Canadian Chocolate
Technically, chocolate is a snack, but we have SO MANY amazing chocolate brands, it deserves its own category. Newest to our ranks is a company that makes its home just down the street from our soon-to-open second location on St. Clair W. ChocoSol Traders makes incredible bar chocolate, as well as their hot chocolate pucks. Giddy YoYo hails from nearby Orangeville, while Camino joins us from Quebec, and Zazubean from across the country in BC.
Shop Canadian in the Fridge & Freezer
This is the area where we are the most Canadian. Most of our meat, fish, eggs, cheese, and dairy come from Canadian farms. Whenever we can, we bring in Canadian produce, as well (although it’s difficult to find Canadian avocados and bananas.) Check out one of our newest all-Canadian brands, Yorkshire Valley Farms, for their organic meat products.
